Today (March 18, 2008)
After the floods of the weekend where we saw places flooded that are normally dry. Water was lying on flood meadows. These are a natural resource that give protection and allow the water to flow gradually out to sea.
 
Restoration of these flood meadows will help to alleviate flooding in the 21st century. Many of the fields are no longer viable for growing food.
 
Badgers are out foraging for food for the cubs and will welcome the recent wet weather.
 
Tawny owls are hooting, red kites drifting along building their nests. Jackdaws have their beady eyes looking all around and gather on my rooftop to chatter and build the nest in the chimney pots.
Buzzards are a common site now and have spread from the west.
