Weather and Wildlife (April 07, 2008)
Yesterday we had snow, on the south side of Short Wood bluebells had come into flower. The Shetlands have split into groups and are free ranging in their 80 hectares. Feeding under the ash trees. Last autumn they were feeding in the ash keys. The tussocky grass known as calamagrostis is being nibbled at and any shoots off the blackberry bushes. The Sussex are keeping well hidden are slow and very steady. In a  few more wee ks the grass and herbs will be growing well. Red kites are calling and buzzards float around. Trees are bursting into life. The manx and hebredian sheep have lambed. The next two months will be full of activity.
