Are you in Entry Level Scheme. Just a few simple chnges can provide added benefit for wildlife on the farm. Many more birds are now being seen due to a few simple changes in management.
Today the sun was shinning on the Eyebrook Reservoir and the spring migrants are beginning to arrive. swallows can be seen over the water all the way back from Africa. Grass snakes along the stream. The stoat was running along the hedgerow such a striking smooth coat. The cows are losing their shaggy winter coats and taking on the smooth coats. Cold frosty nights the gowth is there but slow. Goldfinches are feeding on the rough areas in my garden left wild for them plenty of natural food. Bats will soon be returning to the loft and will be feeding in the garden. Sparrows are enjoying their dust bath and the blackbird takes a daily bath in the old upturned plastic lid. Tawny owls call in the wood at night and I have seen barn owls out in the daytime.
