SMELLS OF AUTUMN

(August 15, 2008)
With the rain and the change in temperature the smells are really beginning to come out of the ground. Fruit and berries are rippening.
The fleabane is a lovely yellow colour and the old mans beard just spreads around the bushes. Scabious can still be seen flowering and the bats continue to scurry around in the loft before emerging at dusk. Bees are still busy in the chimney and the wren is giving an odd blast of song.
Everything is completely still tonight after the dark storm clouds of recent days.

What will tomorrow bring?
