JACKDAWS

(August 29, 2008)
The Jackdaws are extremely noisey and gathering in the large trees around the house and stamping around on the chimney. Elder berries are ripening and blackberries too -enjoyed by Bella the border who likes to pick her own!
Weather is almost tropical and the midges are biting. Bees are still buzing around the chimney.
The fields of wheat are slowly disappearing as the leaves start to drift off the trees.  Deer can be seen around the wood and soon the rutting will start.
Birds will depart to warmer climates and others will be starting their migration back to our shores.
