Winds of change

(October 15, 2009)
Winds bring showers but still every where is so dry. Leaves continue to turn colour and drift off onto the woodland floor. The leaves are different shades of yellow and orange giving a vibrant show of colours. Cherry leaves are pink and also the spindle berries. Still we find some blackberries and my border terriers love to eat the whitebeam berries! Bats are still active and the hedgehog has been around. Owls are very vocal early mornings squirrel and deer are easily seen. Shetland cattle are busy eating the fallen ash leaves as they usally do at this time of the year.
