After the last few days of sunshine we return to the cooler air again. Bird song has been very loud and very quiet in the conifers. Cowslips have done very well this year and their perfume drifting on the breeze. Now we have the white of the hawthorn blossom decorating some of the lanes where the hedgerows have not been cut a welcome site. Ravens have been calling and the crows are chasing the red kites. My three shetlands have their summer coats now and jump up in the air and twist round. They have a different life now and are settled into their field.
